We need your help – please tell your legislator to remove the Marvin Nichols Reservoir from the State Water Plan.
According to the Sunset Commission’s report on the Texas Water Development Board, there are outdated policies and an inefficient review process. One such example is the proposed Marvin Nichols Reservoir which is outdated, unrealistic and applies a 1950s solution to a 21st Century water problem.
At $4.4 billion, one of the costliest public works projects in Texas history, the proposed Marvin Nicholas Reservoir will:
- take private property using eminent domain,
- destroy critical wildlife habitats,
- have a huge negative impact jobs and on the local economy,
- be one of the costliest public works projects in Texas history
- and devastate our beautiful Northeast Texas.
We need a better solution. Ask your legislator to remove Marvin Nichols Reservoir from the State Water Plan.
